    Pre-oval Times

When I first got ill, I started getting into art a lot more. I had very minimal experience with Blender at the time, and wanted to see more what I could do.

I started off really small, making things that I knew just enough for + a little more uncharted territory. That way I could be at least 70% confident in completing it, I was happy with the outcome, and I'd learn something each piece.

That strategy is something I've lived by every single day. It really helps manage expectations. So far I haven't been disappointed in any of my pieces, because they've been exactly what I wanted from them.

Each of these pieces were made solely in Blender, and were all made in ~1-2 hours. Just me exploring.

I was very inspired by surreal works that I saw on Instagram and Pinterest. Those were the types of works I loved to admire, so I made exactly that—which made it a lot easier to admire my own work.

I started posting on my Instagram in June, 2023. That was where I started, and I eventually burnt out and pivoted to making videos on my YouTube.

Though, I do go back to my roots from time to time, and you'll see that here.

If you're interested in learning something new, nothing is stopping you:

    • Start off small. Don't make a massive painting, just paint a lamppost. Don't make an RPG, make a 5-minute game. Don't make a movie, make a 10-second animation. Baby steps.
    • Set your expectations. Know what you want to create. Be confident that you can create most of it. If you're not confident, make it smaller until you are.
    • Make what you love. This took me awhile to actually realize. Being able to create the pieces that really inspire me is what really took me forward.
